The Beginning of the Adventure
In 2018, Giovanni began his journey in the United States, attending Georgian Court University in New Jersey. Although it was a good experience, Giovanni felt there was something more for him. He then decided to move to Florida, where he attended NOVA Southeastern University. “This is where I realized where I want to live,” Giovanni said.
Soccer: Comparing Italy and the United States
Giovanni played soccer in both Italy and the United States, and he noticed some significant differences. While the level of play in New Jersey was lower, the Sunshine Conference in Florida offered high-level soccer, comparable to Italian excellence.
Academic Experience
John holds a BA in Marketing and an MBA in International Business. He praised the U.S. educational system for its flexibility and support services available to international students.
Passion for Music
In addition to soccer, John is also passionate about music. He has worked with a record label and also started producing music on his own. He is currently pursuing an online master’s degree in Global Entertainment and Music Business at Berklee College of Music.
Future and Advice
John is currently in the process of obtaining an O1 visa and exploring his options for the future. When asked what advice he would give to those considering a similar path, Giovanni said, “Throw yourself into the experience and don’t be afraid. You know what you are ‘losing,’ but you don’t know what you might gain.”
